Early Evening Summer Fun

Hi everybody, welcome.

"Early Evening Summer Fun" is 16" x 20" oil on canvas unframed.
Sometimes you could be out on the water for 6 hours and it would seem like 30 minutes.
Good waves, good rides, the sun, the color, the laughter, your friends and then you notice the sun is sinking in the western sky.
You remember suddendly that you are hungry and thirsty. These guys were done for the day, heading back home for some chow feeling that wonderful sense of pleasant exhaustion.
Thank you for looking at my art today. This work is available. email me if you are interested. https://alanphillipstudio.com/ to see more of my coastal art. Art © 2018 Alan Phillips If you like the art please share with your friends!

The After Dinner Set

Welcome.

Hi everybody.

Oil on Canvas 16 x 20  $750.00 USD Available
There is a certain sweet spot at the beach in the hours after dinner in the summertime until the sun goes down. It feels like all is right with the world. Here on the East coast we get beautiful yellows and pinks that shimmer on the reflecting blue green surfaces. You can feel the serenity surrounding you.

Fresh Sushi Anyone?

Hi everybody. Welcome.

Do you love fresh fish? I do. I used to work for a fish wholesaler and I ate better than ever. Most of the catch was local snapper, grouper, flounder, trigger, sheepshead but the yellow and blue fin tuna was trucked up from the market in Miami.

I would watch in fascination as Charles our main man for separating fish from bone in the cutting room-maestro with a knife to see him make beautiful cuts of this gorgeous fish into portions for the restaurants. It was an art to him and he moved the precision of a Wing Shun master! I may have sampled a morsel or two with my own little dish of sashimi sauce in the corner. He also taught me how to really sharpen a blade.

Pigs In A Blanket!

YES!
Hi everybody, welcome.

If you are patient and enjoy these foodie posts for a bit I will get back to the coastal art-it does take time for me to paint them, market them, promote them and then for people to get around to purchasing them! https://alanphillipstudio.com/ you can see that work here. Boy has got to eat you know

Well, although not exactly health food or coastal but when you want a little comfort food-oh my, these tasty morsels fly off the plate as fast as you can make them!

How Hot Do You Like Your Salsa?

Hi everybody, welcome.

Hot, hot, hot!!!  Nah, not me I like the mild stuff-but I do love me some  jalapeƱo peppers !
There is a local maker of Salsa here called A1A and if I'm not making it myself I want their version. One hundred percent fresh and delicious every time over the course of many years.

Let's Barbeque!

Hi everybody, welcome.

Anybody out there in cyber-land like to barbeque? I knew it! Well where I grew up there was some mighty fine grilling going on but here in the South-whew, folks know how to barbeque! Put that sauce on those ribs with a mop!  Even the blackened chicken was game. LOL!

Foodies, Hunters and Gatherers!

Hi everybody, welcome.

Here is a little gem I did a few years back for water's Edge Magazine. I had the food page and sometimes leaned to the humorous! What a gas, hunt it and cook it article about Floridian Chefs catching and cooking their own.
