Welcome.
Hi Everybody. I have a friend who is an artist that says , "Put a tie on it and call it sir." he was referring to framing a work of art. These days with the coastal and informal looks of much of the interior design I see and consult on there seems to be a consensus that art does not need to always be framed to have the right feel for a space.
What do you think?
Personally, I like frames. I like the complete look of a beautiful work 'contained'. However in my piece here "Glowing In The Coastal Drift." oil on canvas 36" x 48" lives in harmony in my studio with the cotton duck sofa and linen pillows, the coffee table with the charming patina and the jute rug and of course the sea shells without a frame.
This work is on loan at the moment in a palace of a home in Ponte Vedra Beach and may have a frame in it's the future! If it does I'll post it and do a comparison. Feel free to leave a comment below if you are of a mind to.
Thanks for stopping by today. You can see more of my art at www.alanphillipstudio.com for more of the coastal journey art.
More to come....
