Safe Harbor

Welcome.

"Makes no difference where you go every journey ends.
Each new landscape now you know.Ia stepping stone till you're safe at home."

This is the first part of the song, "Crayon Sun" by Michael Franks. I am a fan.

That is the idea here, a place of sanctuary. Most of the day these waterbirds are on the move, searching out the schools of baitfish that sustain them. Safe Harbor is the name a of a fish wholesaler in Mayport Florida and these happy birds know that there is plenty of scrap and plenty of abundance to knick a free one from the fisherman that dock here and unload the fresh catch. The two hulls are of smaller trawlers than the the big shrimp boats but still a great refuge in the harbor for our local winged friends to bask in the sun after a feast.

I am fascinated by the light that bounces off the water and dances on the hulls. I think I got the color and the composition true on this one! Hope you enjoy it.

This is a 36x48 inch oil on canvas, the wrap around style.

It is available for $7,500.00 US plus shipping and handling.
