Pecan Pie Anyone?

Welcome.

Hi everybody.

Ok, so let's say you are responsible for creating the art for the food page every month of a popular local magazine. How are you going to make it a little different? How in the world are you going to do pecan pie differently?

One of the first things I would do with an assignment if I didn't have an instant 'eureka' moment was to research the subject. One of the things I found out was that among two of our founding fathers, Washington and Jefferson thought that pecans would be and were a profitable agricultural cash crop.

And...when enjoying a leisurely dinner discussing oh, let's say a constitution, a declaration, the price of tea we come to the coffee and dessert and there is one piece of pecan pie left..uh, oh! It's a duel of the fastest fork!

Art and humor are such a wonderful visual device. This was watercolor and ink on board.

More to come.....
